Hi guys!
The weather has been crazy around here. Hot. Hot. Hot! Which made the perfect excuse to poor myself a large glass of Gin Tonic š
On holidays, I found this beautiful bottle of Puerto de Indias Strawberry Gin. I couldn’t resist. I actually always by my booze by the looks… I hear it’s not the best tactic when deciding on wine and other drinks but I’ve never had any bad luck. So far, that is.
I could already imagine it when I was holding that bottle. A strawberry Gin, with some Fever Tree Tonic, strawberries, ice cubes a slice of lime from Botanic & Fruits (more about that later in this post) and a fun straw. Perfect!
I wouldn’t say this Strawberry Gin is too sweet. It has that subtle strawberry flavor without tasting like syrup in your mouth. Mixed with the right Tonic and some ice cubes, it makes quite a refreshing cocktail! Puerto de Indias is a gin distillery from Sevilla, Spain. It is one of the eldest and most traditional ones from Andalusia. Their ingredients are carefully selected to ensure they make premium products.
A premium gin needs a premium tonic. And a premium Gin Tonic needs a premium slice of lime š That is why I chose the dry lime from Botanic & Fruits. This company makes dried slices of fruit. The slices come in different flavors: orange, strawberry, lime, pineapple, cucumber, melon, apple, kiwi, … You can use them to pimp your cocktails, teas and even to make fruit infused water. 1 slice is enough to make your drink stand out.
Why not just slice a lime myself? Easy! I don’t need a whole lime so it would go to waiste. AND this 1 slice has way more flavor in it than a slice from a fresh lime. No kidding!
Let’s make a Strawberry Gin Tonic!
What we need:
- 60 ml Strawberry Gin
- 85 ml Fever Tree Tonic
- 2 strawberries
- 6 ice cubes
- 1 slice of Lime
- a fun straw
- Gin Tonic glass
How to:
- Fill the glass with ice, gin and tonic
- Garnish with strawberries, lime and the fun straw
- Serve!
The dried fruit slices from Botanic & Fruits are available in specialised stores, Carrefour and Colruyt.
Have a delicious day ā¤
