Victoria Sandwich

Hi guys!

I wanted to post this yummy Victoria Sandwich last week but the weather has been so depressing. Not really the weather you would imagine when making the perfect picknick dessert.

So I’m sharing it with you today! Admit it. It is the perfect time of the year for a picknick and a casual, easy but delicious Strawberry dessert!

Vanilla Easter Bunny Cake with Mango

Hi guys!

Easter is almost here! Are you guys as excited about it as I am? I don’t really decorate the house but I do love the Easter chocolate 😉 I think I’m going to make my boyfriend a little easter hunt. I think he’ll love it.

When I think about Easter, I think about chocolate, eggs, little chicks and bunnies. I somehow always go for the bunnies when it comes to Easter recipes. Last year,  I made a big bunny cake. This year? I’m making one again! But a completely different bunny cake.

Swedish Princess Cake

Hi guys!

This weeks recipe is one with a Royal touch: Swedish Princess Cake. Swedish what? This cake is a traditional Swedish layered cake with yummy sponge cake, pastry cream, lots of whipped cream and a subtle layer of green marzipan.
Finishing touch? A pink marzipan rose.

Marble Cake

Hi guys!

Once in a while I get this huge craving for cake. Just a simple cake. Do you have that too? Although I do like myself some storebought cake, you have to admit a homemade one is so much better. And so easy to make! To serve my fickle cravings, I made a Marble Cake.

Zombie Unicorn Cake for Halloween

Hi guys!

Happy Halloween!

I bet lots of you are going out tonight in fabulous and terrifying outfits. Others may go door to door with the kids or send the kids to go Trick or Treat-ing. Some of you are going to watch horror movies. If you’re wondering what I’m doing tonight, I think we can rule out the latter. I will be baking tonight, but not for Halloween.

My final Halloween experiment was born last Sunday. Or should I say ‘died’ last Sunday? Don’t know. You tell me 😉

May I present to you: Misses Zombie Unicorn!

Lemon Blueberry Cake

Hi guys!

I’ve been going on strong on the chocolate lately so I thought a little change wouldn’t hurt. Not that this yummy Lemon Blueberry Cake will get you to lose weight. But that’s not why you’re here, are you? 😉

This Lemon Blueberry Cake is moist and not too heavy. Unless you’d eat a really large piece, which I don’t recommend. That being said, lemon lovers will absolutely LOVE this one. It’s got that rich lemon flavor, balanced with blueberries and a sweeter frosting. It’s not too sweet and not too lemonlike. The perfect cake 🙂

Carrot Cake for Easter

Hi guys!

Easter makes me dream about the egg hunting I did when I was a kid. I loved searching for them in the garden. My parents were perfect at hiding them but I was also very good at finding them 😉 My grandma always took me to the church where the Easter bells threw little bags filled with eggs from the highest tower.

Later, I coordinated the egg hunt for my two nieces. Coordinated you say? Yup. It was my job to make sure they didn’t steal eggs from eachother. #dreamjob xD It was actually quite fun to watch them get all excited about the eggs though.

There’s one thing I will definitely never forget. My godmother used to buy us a chocolate figure from the bakery in her street. Usually a chicken or a lamb. Mine was always white. Why? Because my dad loves white chocolate. This seriously was the reason it was always made of white chocolate. Every year, she said: “This one is for your dad. Because I know how much he loves white chocolate.” I didn’t think it was fair. She is my godmother. Not my father’s xD But luckily for me I am my father’s daughter: I love white chocolate 😉

So Easter is all about chocolate eggs. But the Easter Bunny plays a part in it too! After all, the Easter bells can’t reach every spot in the garden, can they? To treat our fluffy Easter Bunny, I made him (or her) some Carrot Cake!

It was time for a new experiment. I wanted to combine 2 of my favorite flavors into one cake: chocolate (what else?) and Frangipane. It worked!

Easy & delicious Pear Cake

Hi guys!

I’ve always been a fan of Apple Cake. Even the storebought ones my grandma used to present us at parties. I guess I just love the simplicity of the cake and that moist texture, thanks to the apples. Apple cake, apple cake with speculoos, … I’ve made many varieties on this family classic. Because that’s what I believe it is. A family classic. I don’t think I know one family who never made apple cake.

Sometimes, the classics need to be changed. Just a little. So instead of apples, I used pears. The recipe is the same, only the fruit changes. Super easy and still super delicious 🙂

Chocolate Mickey Cake

Hi guys!

We had a birthday celebration last Sunday for my aunt, grandpa, nephew and myself. I wanted to make a special cake for my aunt because she loves mice and especially Mickey Mouse…And she loves chocolate (who doesn’t). A few days before, I came across a Mickey Mouse cake. Yes! This is going to be the cake 😀

I decided to go for a yummy Devil’s Food Cake, topped with ganache. It’s such a rich chocolate cake, but not too heavy. I didn’t dare to write immediately on the cake so I wrote on some parshment paper to harden in the freezer until the letters were dry enough to put on the cake.

Tadaaaaaa:
