Chunky Monkey Brownies

Hi guys!

Apparently, I’m having a Brownies periodΒ xD
But you can never have too many Brownies, right?

Today is a very special Brownie-day. Why?
Because I’ve made Chunky Monkey Brownies!
Some of you might have heard about ‘Chunky Monkey’ before…
It is namely a flavour of Ben & Jerry’s!

Not that I have ever tasted that one…

But it absolutely brings a very interesting flavour to your Brownies!

Chunky Monkey Brownies. These Brownies are named after the Chunky Monkey ice cream flavor from Ben & Jerry's!

Raspberry Brownies

Hi guys!

Today seemed like the perfect day for some fresh raspberries.
And what else could be more perfect to go with it than some dark chocolate?
I say: Nothing.

If you know me, you’d already know what I’ve been making today πŸ˜‰
I’ve made Raspberry Brownies!

USC#2: Fudge Brownies with Fleur de Sel

Hi guys!

I’ve got a little treat for you!
I wanted to stay in line of Salon du Chocolat so it’s something with chocolate πŸ˜‰

May I present to you:
Fudge Brownies with Fleur de Sel!

It’s only half covered in chocolate cream because one of my colleagues is allergic to lactose.
And since I didn’t want her to feel left out, I’ve made half for her.

It’s my second recipe from the awesome book United States of Cakes by Roy Fares and it didn’t dissapoint!
You probably wonder why I’m telling you this?
Well at first, when it came out of the oven, it didn’t look that good. I thought it was a complete failure and I was actually pretty convinced that I could throw it all away. Or at least not bring it to work because it was the first thing I brought and what would they think of my baking skills if I gave them this…

Wrong. Wrong. Wrong.

Twelfth-night Pie (Driekoningentaart)

Hi guys!

Do you know what day it is today? Exactly! It’s the Twelfth-night or Driekoningen!
I don’t know if you guys celebrate this day but we, Belgians, do πŸ˜€ Children go door to door to sing and hopefully get some candy! (At least I always wanted candy as a kid. Nowadays kids want money rather than candy… Where did the world go)
Anyway, the kids love it!
There is a pie for this day. The pie was originally served on January the 5th.
The pie hides a bean or a figure inside and the one who gets the piece with the bean wins the crown!
This person gets to be the king on january the 6th.

I have some great memories from this day! As a child, I always went to my grnadmother to sing and eat this delicious pie.
For some mysterious reason, I always got that bean! I accuse my granmother for having something to do with this πŸ˜‰

This frosting is the fluffiest, most delicious and subtle frosting I’ve ever had or made!
It’s got this subtle taste of cinnamon in it which makes it perfect for all ages! And even for people who aren’t such Cinnamon fans πŸ˜‰

I always have the ingredients for this cake in my cupboard. You never know. Your friends may call and ask if they can come over. You can make this cake by the time they arrive! (Your friends have to live more than 5km away…)

Let’s get baking, shall we?

What do we need:

  • 250 g butter

Chocolate Cake2

How to:

Preheat the oven at 180Β°C.
Put some baking paper in your baking tin. This will make it a lot easier to get your cake out of the tin in one beautiul piece.

Mix the butter and the sugar until the sugar is fully absorbed.
Add the eggs one at a time while you keep mixing.
Sift the flour and add it to the batter.
Add the cocoa powder.
Put the batter in the baking tin and bake the cake for about 50 minutes.

Check with a toothpeck or a sharp knife when it’s done. Let the cake cool on a rack.

DING DONG! Oh look! Your friends have arrived! πŸ˜‰

Chocolate special: B by B Chocolates

Hi there!
I have a special about B by B Chocolates for you today! Yippie!!

I love chocolate…
It’s as simple as that.

It doesn’t really matter what kind of chocolate, any chocolate will do πŸ™‚

BUT! There is chocolate and there is B by B Chocolates…

B by B Chocolates is luxurious Belgian chocolate. (Thank god I live in Belgium!)
Their chocolate is devine! But a little more expensive (luxurious, you know) than chocolate from your local drugstore (obviously!)

I have to tell you I was the luckiest girl on the planet when B by B Chocolates sent their chocolates to me!
Why? Well, I was amazed too because I asked them if I could use their photographs from their site for my blog (privacy and stuff, you know)
They said I could πŸ™‚ AND they sent me a box of chocolates to try!!!! I couldn’t believe it, it’s so sweet!

Now, let’s talk chocolate again πŸ˜‰

It doesn’t look like ‘just’ chocolate. It looks so good, you barely dare to take a bite from it!

This is what B by B Chocolates look like. You have three sorts of chocolate (pure, milk & white) and 22 different flavours to choose from.
Let me introduce you my favourites πŸ™‚

My absolute favourite is #58: Dark chocolate – Babelutte – Seasalt
WHAT?! Sea salt?
YES! Sea salt! When my mom brought these babies home, I almost refused to try them. I mean, sea salt? Really?
Well, I am SO glad I did try! It’s beyond delicious.

My other favourite is #35: Milk chocolate – crΓ¨me brΓ»lΓ©e
It’s got that nice vanilla flavour you find in a crΓ¨me brΓ»lΓ©e πŸ™‚

I believe that B by B Chocolates doesn’t just sells chocolates, they sell an experience!
It’s not the kind of chocolate you eat during your periods or when you’re upset.
It’s the kind of chocolate you want to enjoy and share with your closest friends and family.

Therefore, I think it’s a great gift! Or just for yourself πŸ˜‰

You can choose any combination of sleeves you want πŸ™‚ Do you want 5? Or 10? It’s possible!
They put it in gift boxes, which are really nice and look very luxurious by the way.

B by B Chocolates has a site, so for everyone who doesn’t live in Belgium: don’t worry! You can order these chocolates-to-die-for! www.bbyb.be
If you want to check the latest news, you can follow them on Twitter @BbyB_Chocolates

I hope you’ll get to discover these chocolates and if you do, please try #58. you won’t regret it!

p.s. They have something else which I like even better… Boobies!
But that’s another story πŸ˜‰

Have a delicious, chocolate-ish, day ❀
