Hello 2018, Let’s talk!

Hi guys!

Happy 2018!

I’m happy the new year has finally arrived. I haven’t been able to bring my A game in 2017 and I feel like 2018 is going to be much, much better! Why was 2017 so bad? First of all, it wasn’t that bad. I know many people who’ve had much worse. But for me, 2017 wasn’t exactly what I thought it would be. Life has lived me instead of me living life… I got distracted, carried away, felt tired, had some blues and got numb. There were times that I couldn’t bring myself to baking, blogging or doing anything else. All I wanted was to watch tv. And not even that actually. There were times I needed to feel the wind on my nose and get my head straight. It sounds so depressing but the baddest thing is that it really wasn’t. I didn’t have anything to complain about. And still, 2017 flew by without me doing what I really wanted to do.

2017 hasn’t been completely awful of course. You guys were here to love and support Sarah’s Little Kitchen and I can’t thank you enough for that! Here’s the best 9 of 2017:

Apple Turnovers

Hi guys!

One of my favorite bakery treats are Apple Turnovers! It’s silly but if the Apple Turnovers aren’t good, the bakery isn’t good xD At least for me, that is :p I bet everyone has a special “reference” treat to compare bakeries and to either find them good or not. What’s yours?

These Apple Turnovers are so easy to make, you’ll never have to live a day without them ๐Ÿ˜‰

Apple Crumble on the BBQ

Hi guys!

I had the honor to be invited to Elckerlijc, the restaurant of Peter De Clerq, last night. For those of you who don’t know him, he’s the BBQ Master of Belgium ๐Ÿ˜‰ I thank him, Braun and Lewis PR for the wonderful evening they had planned for us.

Knowing Peter is the King of BBQ, you must know what I’m about to share today, aren’t you? Of course you do. You’ve probably read the title of this blogpost :p

Apple Crumble on the BBQ. An idea I would have never came up with on my own. When I think thought about dessert on the BBQ, I thought of pineapple and banana. But this is far better! Finish it off with some vanilla ice cream and you’ll find yourself in heaven.

Homemade Speculoos Ice Cream with Mamita’s Bakeries

Hi guys!

I promised you another Ice Cream recipe and I actually think this one is even better than the Stracciatella Ice Cream recipe ๐Ÿ˜ฎ (almost can’t believe I’m writing this).

What makes this Speculoos Ice Cream so good? The speculoos! I had the chance to try Mamita’s Bakeries’ speculoos and it is just so good! I’ve always been a fan of speculoos, but I never liked the super spiced ones. You know, so full of spices it becomes a different kind of cookie. At least, that’s what I think. Mamita’s Bakeries has a more spiced speculoos than the famous one we probably all know and I don’t need to mention. But the good thing – no great thing even! – is that this speculoos is just perfect. I mean it! It has that yummy crunch and a more profound speculoos taste, without it becoming something different. I guess you’ll just have to taste one to understand what I’m trying to say here.

I’ll tell you all about Mamita’s Bakeries in a second but first: Ice Cream Time!

Baffo: The BEST pizza in Glasgow!

Hi guys!

I promise this is the last post about my trip to Scotland but I have to share this one. Really. It’s super important that I tell you this because I don’t want you to miss out on the BEST pizza in Glasgow (and beyond). If you visit Glasgow, this is the place to be for some freakin’ good pizza ๐Ÿ˜€ It’s freshly made ๐Ÿ˜‰

Must-do’s while in Scotland: from drinking to eating and dancing.

Hi guys!

I told you about Bibi’s Bakery in Edingburgh last week. Today I will tell you about the must-do’s while in Scotland ๐Ÿ™‚

Must-do #1: Whisky tasting!

To be honest, I don’t like Whisky. At all. But I do believe it is something you must try in Scotland. It is the country of Whisky after all.

There are many ways to have yourself a Whisky tasting:

  • Buy some bottles and taste them yourself
  • Go to a Whisky tasting
  • Drink a Whisky in the pub
  • Have dinner with Whisky

I would prefer the latter. Not just because it involves any eating (actually yes, that is the main reason) but because you don’t have to drink that many Whisky’s if you really don’t like them. Trying any of the other options could become a bit expensive if the Whisky isn’t your cup of tea.

Pretty & yummy things to discover in 2017

Hi guys!

I’m beyond excited to share this post with you today ๐Ÿ˜€ A few days ago, I went to the press days of Yapado. It’s an event I always look forward to because I get to see the new collections of brands I love. And boy did I love the new collections… I usually list things in random order but the first two are my absolute favorites! You’ll understand why ๐Ÿ˜‰

#1: Salt & Pepper

I’ve loved Salt & Pepper ever since I can remember. But with this new collection, they have completely stolen my heart. It is right up my alley and I wish I could just buy myself a whole new set of… well, everything! Not that hard you might say but I’m not so much into throwing things away that aren’t broken. I can however invite a bunch of clumsy people over… Does that sound like a plan to you?

August Favorites

Hi guys!

Another month passed by… Which means I have 5 new awesome dishes to share with you from fellow food bloggers! Yay!

September always feels like the month of change. You know, new chances at school. Maybe changing school? Changing your classes? I used to look forward to September. Learning new things, seeing my friends again, … I really never minded going to school. But I did feel happy when it was over and I became part of the working world. But this September, I know I’m going to miss school. Just because it really wasn’t that bad. As a teen, I never believed people saying school was the best time of their lives. I always thought working and not studying all the time, would be better. But I can tell you I do miss school. A little bit. How about you?

Let’s forget about school and take a look at this month’s 5 favorites!

#1: Classic Creme Brรปlรฉe with pommegranate
