One of my favorite Summer activities is having a picknick. I just love sitting down in a park, preferably on a lake or pond, and chill on a soft blanket whilst enjoying some bread and a glass of bubbles… Don’t you?
When I was younger, my parents and I would travel to France and have a picknick every day. We would take the car, stop at a local boulangerie (bakery) for some bread and a dessert and go find a spot to picknick on our way to wherever we wanted to go that day. Oh how I loved those days.
It’s FRI-DAAAAY! I’m always happy when Friday presents itself but especially this one. Becaaauuusseeee I have a fantastic dessert to share with you! That’s why 😀
I’ve been wanting to make a Pavlova for quite a while now but I never really had the guts to get myself to it. Now I know you don’t need guts. At all. This Pavlova recipe is easy and delicious. My favorite combo. Oh and it looks absolutely amazing, don’t you think.
I had the honor to be invited to Elckerlijc, the restaurant of Peter De Clerq, last night. For those of you who don’t know him, he’s the BBQ Master of Belgium 😉 I thank him, Braun and Lewis PR for the wonderful evening they had planned for us.

think thought about dessert on the BBQ, I thought of pineapple and banana. But this is far better! Finish it off with some vanilla ice cream and you’ll find yourself in heaven.

Today, we’re making my absolute favorite Ice Cream flavour: Stracciatella! I know, Brownie or Cookie Dough Ice Cream is delicious as well but I really prefer Stracciatella. Australian Ice Cream has the best Stracciatella in my eyes but I did hope this recipe from Koken Op Hakken could live up to it. That way I can make it myself. All Summer long 😉
Today is The Boyfriends birthday! I thought this would make the perfect occasion to share this perfect Summer Birthday Cake with you guys. In fact this one is a true classic when it comes to Birthday Cakes. At least where I live 🙂 A very light and spongy cake, lots of whipped cream (there’s also a buttercream version) and fruits. Perfect!
It’s official! Summer is here 😀 We’ve been waiting for her ever since Winter left the country (did she?) and now she’s here to stay. She has been paying us surprise visits on the weekends but I hope she has a lot planned for us this year.

Today is 21 July. That means it’s Belgian’s National Holiday!
What better way to celebrate than to celebrate with food!
I wanted to go all caloriebombing all over again but have you noticed the weather????
It was SO hot! Odd for me to say, but I actually don’t really feel like eating sweets right now…
Since it’s the National Holiday of Belgium, I thought I should make things we are known for 🙂
But I can’t make my own beer or chocolates… My homemade fries would never live up to the image of the famous Belgian (YES! Belgian) fries…
Oh boy, what a terrible Belgian citizen am I!
So instead, I’m bringing you the PERFECT Summer Pasta! (my mom came up with this :D)
(I know, my knife & fork should be switched, but I always eat like this xD Sorry!)
It is so delicious! And very refreshing actually 😀
Don’t worry, it’s our National Holiday so in order to be able to enjoy the day, the recipe is very very easy. 😉
I’m sure this pasta is perfect for this Holiday so I don’t need to feel guilty ^^
And yes, I am going to eat fries tonight 😉
What do we need:
Wash and cut all the vegetables.
Cook the pasta.
Mix the vegetables together.
Serve the pasta and add the vegetable-mix.
See, I told you this was easy!
I am definitely eating the leftovers tomorrow! This pasta is also great to eat cold 🙂
