Hi guys!
I missed last Fiesta Friday due to my wonderful trip but now I’m back!
Thanks to Angie at The Novice Gardener for this amazing party!
I am bringing some quiche for you today :)
I love it. I make it quite a lot :)
They come in all sorts of combinations.
I’ll share a basic recipe which you can use as a base.
I never listen to the amounts my cookbooks are telling me to use because if I want, for instance, more bacon, I’ll add more ;)
What do we need (1 quiche for 4 people):
– 1 roll of puff paste
– 1 onion (a big one)
– butter to bake
– 4 eggs
– 2dl cream
– pepper and salt
If I make Quiche Lorraine, I ‘should’ use 100g bacon and 100g ham. I think I use almost 200g of each of them. I use 200g cheese (gruyère or emmental)
You can add any vegetables or fish or meat you like :) I often improvise with what’s left in the fridge :)
My mom also likes to make this. She puts carrots, onion, chicory, mushrooms, …
I’ll show you the recipe for Quiche Lorraine, that will make it easier :) But feel free to adapt :)
How to:
Pre-heat the oven at 190 degrees centigrade.
Put the puff paste in a baking tin and stick a fork in it to make little holes.
If you are not using baking paper, butter the form before you put the puff paste in :)
Cut the onion. Fruit it with a little bit of butter.
When the onion is beginning to become soft, add the bacon and the ham or any other meat you like to add.
Let it cool a bit.
Mix the eggs with the cream. Add a little flavour with salt and pepper.
Add the onion and the meat to the mixture with eggs.
Fill the puff paste with it. Add the cheese by sprinkling it on top.
Make sure the cheese is equally spread.
Bake the quiche for about gets a nice, gold-yellow colour.
Eat while it’s still hot :)
I will list a few of my quiche varieties.
The first one is a quiche with salmon and leek

Next is a quiche with carrots and onion. The other half is chicory. It’s a split one :)

Quiche with broccoli

Last but not least: quiche with tomatoes and herbs (this one is my mom’s invention)

Three quiches :)

Happy Fiesta Friday to you all!
Have a delicious day and party <3
xxx Sarah
