These Chocolate Oreo Christmas Tree Cupcakes are very easy to make and will definitely impress your guests! I knew I wanted to make Cupcakes for Christmas but it wasn’t until I saw the video on how to make Christmas Tree Merengues from Cupcake Jemma that I got the idea to put a cute little Christmas Tree on top. I think it looks great!

What we need for about 18 cupcakes:

  • 250 g soft, unsalted butter
  • 250 g caster sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 250 g self-raising flour
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 18 oreo’s
  • festive cupcake wrappers
  • ice cream csoop
  • cupcake mold

  • 150 g dark chocolate
  • 250 g butter
  • 150 g icing sugar
  • 100 g nutella
  • pinch of salt
  • piping bag
  • piping tip
  • crumbled oreo’s

Merengue tree

  • 3 egg whites
  • double the weight of the egg whites in caster sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • green food colouring
  • piping bag
  • star shaped piping tip
  • golden stars
  • sprinkles
  • baking sheet
  • baking plate

How to:

  1. Preheat the oven at 180°
  2. Line the cupcake mold with wrappers
  3. Mix together butter and sugar until combined
  4. Add the eggs and mix
  5. Add the flour and the cocoa powder
  6. Mix until everything is combined
  7. Scoop the batter in the cupcake wrappers (fill for 3/4th)
  8. Bake for about 25 minutes
  9. Let the cupcakes cool completely before frosting

  • Mix together butter, powder sugar and salt
  • Melt the chocolate
  • Add the melted chocolate and nutella to the mixture
  • Mix until everything is combined
  • Put the piping tip in the piping bag and fill 3/4th with frosting
  • Pipe a small amount of frosting on each cupcake and sprinkle the crumbled oreo cookies on top to make it look like soil

Merengue tree

  • Whip the egg whites until they form stiff peaks
  • Add the sugar one tablespoon at a time whilst mixing
  • Mix until all grains are dissolved
  • Add the vanilla and the food colouring
  • Give it a good final whisk
  • Place the piping tip in the piping bag
  • Paint some stripes of green on the inside of the piping bag
  • Fill for 3/4th
  • Preheat the oven at 90° or 100° if you can’t choose 90°
  • Make 4 dots of merengue in the corners of the baking plate to make sure the baking sheet remains flat
  • Hold your piping bag completely vertical whilst piping the trees
  • Make 1 big blob, stop and go up a bit to make a smaller blob. Stop and go a bit up to make the final blob
  • Repeat this for every Christmas tree
  • Place a golden star on top of each tree
  • Use sprinkles to make Christmas decoration
  • Bake for about 30 minutes
  • If you can grab the merengue tree without it sticking to the paper, they’re ready. If not, give them a couple of minutes more
  • Let them cool in the oven
  • Place 1 Christmas Tree on top of each Cupcake

I hope you guys like these little Christmas Tree Cupcakes!

Have a delicious day ❤
