Hi guys!
It’s cold, it’s December and it’s almost Christmas. The perfect time for a Hot Chocolate themed recipe! What about these Hot Chocolate Cupcakes with the Luxury Hot Chocolate from Whittard? I think it looks so cute!
These Hot Chocolate Cupcakes are the perfect solution for you if you can’t choose between an actual Hot Chocolate or a Chocolate Cupcake. You just eat a Hot Chocolate!
The Luxury Hot Chocolate from Whittard is quite strong when you dip your nose in the bags. But it softens in the batter which results in a lovely, balanced flavor.
What we need for +- 18 Cupcakes:

- 250 g caster sugar
- 4 eggs
- 250 g self-raising flour
- 1 bag (20g) of Whittard Luxury Hot Chocolate
- Cupcake wrappers
- Cupcake baking tin
- ice cream scoop
- spatula
Frosting
- 500 ml heavy whipping cream (>35% fat)
- icing sugar (decide yourself how much you want to add)
- Candy canes
- cocoa powder to finish the top
- piping bag
- 2D piping tip
How to:
Cupcakes
- Preheat the oven at 180°C
- Mix together butter and sugar
- Add in the eggs
- Add the flour and mix until combined but don’t overmix
- Add the Luxury Hot Chocolate powder
- Use a spatula to scrape down the sides and gently fold to make sure the cocoa is evenly distributed in the batter
- Fill the cupcake wrappers for 3/4th using a ice cream scoop
- Bake for about 25 minutes
- Let them cool down completely before moving on to the decorating part
Frosting
- Whip up the cream
- Add the amount of icing sugar you like
- (optional) Add some stabilizer to make your whipped cream last longer
- Fill the piping bag and pipe some big hoops on your cupcakes
- Sprinkle some cocoa on top
- Break your candy canes so they look like straws and place them on the sides of the cupcakes
I hope you guys like these as much as actual Hot Chocolate!
Have a delicious day ❤
