Chocolate Chip Apple Cake

Hi guys!

Who likes apples? I do! I don’t care how apples are used, I love every recipe with them.
But the way I like them most, is in a cake. Haha who knew :p

I love a simple Apple Cake but I wanted to add a little something. The Boyfriend wasn’t feeling so well last week so he had the final say since he wanted a cake so bad. He went for the Apple Cake and I added some chocolate chips šŸ™‚ Because chocolate always makes you feel better šŸ˜‰

Chocolate Chip Apple Cake

It was for The Boyriend so I used a heart shaped cake pan instead of a rectangular one I usually use for simple cakes.

What we need:

  • 200g butter
  • 200g caster sugar
  • 1 bag vanilla sugar (= +- 8g)
  • 4 eggs
  • 200g self-raising four
  • a pinch of salt
  • 3 apples
  • chocolate chips
  • cake pan
  • Dr.Oetker baking spray

Even the bottom of the cake looks great!

How to:

  1. Preheat the oven at 180Ā°C
  2. Spray the cake pan with the Dr.Oetker baking spray
  3. Mix together butter, sugar and vanilla sugar untill all sugar is absorbed
  4. Split the eggs. Keep the egg whites separate. Add the egg yolks to the batter
  5. Mix well until combined
  6. Sift the flour and mix into the batter
  7. Whip the egg whites until they form soft peeks
  8. Gently mix the whipped egg whites under the batter using a spatula
  9. Fill the cake pan
  10. Skin and cut the apples, hide in the batter
  11. Sprinkle the chocolate chips over the batter and gently blend it in
  12. Bake the cake for about 45 minutes or until golden brown
  13. Serve hot or cold
