Hi guys!
It’s official. Fall is here. Some may say Summer didn’t last long this year, others may even say we didn’t even have a Summer this year. I disagree. I’ve enjoyed Summer, I’ve sat in the sun and I even got burned from it. So yes, we did have a Summer. But that’s over now.
I don’t mind it being Fall already. It’s such a great season! The trees get beautiful colours, we can eat cinnamon, apples and pumpkin every day and the house becomes a bit more cosy when we take our candles out. I don’t like waking up in the dark and coming home in the dark but I do like the cosy vibe that darkness brings our house. Oh and another great part of Fall? It leads to Christmas 😉
To celebrate the beginning of Fall, I present to you: Salted Caramel Apple Pie! I even tried a decorated pie crust for you.
What we need:
- 5-6 red apples (fun fact: I went apple shopping at the local farmer and he had apples so big I only needed 2 for this pie 😮 )
- 5 tbsp caster sugar
- Cinnamon
- Salted Caramel
- Sea salt
- 2 rolls of shortcrust pastry
- 1 egg
- cookie cutter: leave
- 1 glass or round cookie cutter
- 1 round cake pan
How to:
- Preheat the oven at 180°C
- Cut the apples and put them in a bowl
- Add sugar and cinnamon and mix together using a spoon
- Place 1 roll of shortcrust pastry in the cake pan
- Use a fork to make little holes in the bottom of the crust
- Fill with the apples
- Drizzle some Salted Caramel on top of the apples and sprinkle with sea salt
- Decide on decorations. I made different strings to put across the pie and cut out leaves. I made 5 circles and placed them next to eachother with a small overlap. Gently roll the circles and then cut in half to make two roses.
- Place your decorations on the pie
- Stir your egg to make egg wash and brush it on the dough
- Bake for about 45 minutes or until golden brown
- Share!
I hope you guys like my little Fall creation. I’m taking it to my friends at Fiesta Friday! Co-hosts this week are Shinta from Caramel Tinted Life & Diann from Of Goats and Greens.
Have a delicious day ❤

I love fall, too. Although it means winter is around the corner, alas… Your pie crust decor is something I wish I had patience to do! Love it! Thanks for sharing at Fiesta Friday!

Thanks so much! I wish I was as good as some I saw on Pinterest but I’m pretty pleased myself 🙂 I love Fall for the beautiful colors on the leafs and the apples, pumpkins and cinnamon but I do like Winter 😀 To me, Winter equals Christmas 😉
