Salon du Chocolat

Hi guys!

Yesterday was THE day for chocoholics! It was (and still is) Salon du Chocolat in Brussels Expo.
I was so lucky to receive an invitation and enjoy the blogging event PeppeRmintPR had organized.
The evening was so much fun! I literally had to say “no” to chocolatiers, offering me some chocolate, because I’ve just had too much! I’m not kidding!

First, let me tell you something about the workshop with Chocolatier Joost Arijs.

He’s a Belgian Chocolatier from Ghent.
He showed us how he made chocolates. It was very interesting because he told us exactly what he used and what he did. He even gave us the recipe for these particular chocolates. And they were very yummy!
Joost was very kind and he gave his workshop in both French and Dutch. So this was just perfect for all of us (we either spoke French or Dutch, or both like me πŸ˜‰ )
I guess I’ll have to try that recipe sometime…

Here are some more pictures of the workshop:

This was the result:

Next on the agenda (which happened spontaneously) was the making of our very own customized Magnum!
When they asked us if we wanted to create our own Magnum, we couldn’t say no! That would have been foulish…

The result was this yummy and (in my eyes) very pretty Magnum:

Magnum had this amazing giant Magnum chocolate creation!

The evening wasn’t over yet! Salon du Chocolat had a fashion show with chocolate dresses!
Here is a quick overview. Sorry for the crappy pictures but the lights didn’t work with my camera…

After the fashion show, it was time to explore the Salon!
In case you didn’t believe me when I said there was too much chocolate (even for me) I hope these pictures can convince you. BUT better too much than too less πŸ˜‰
So, explore the Salon with me:

Want to visit the Salon du Chocolat? You have no choice! As a chocoholic, you MUST visit this salon!
At least once a year πŸ˜‰
The Salon is still opened until the 8th of February 2015. You can find info and tickets here.
Other plans? Too late? Living abroad? Keep it in mind for next year!
I can’t wait to go back next year because it really is something. Seeing all that chocolate together.

Here is a little chocolate creation for Valentine’s Day:

Have a delicious day full of chocolate!

  1. Wow, looks like heaven! We’re big Joost Arijs fans here, the chocolates (the ones with peanuts, omg!), the Madeleines, the pastries, my oh my! We’re very happy to have his store in Ghent πŸ™‚
