Hi guys!
My neighbour has his Christmas party last weekend and I was asked to make his dessert! Yay!
He wanted something with chocolate… (Who doesn’t 😉 )
Since his family LOVES chocolate mousse, it became chocolate mousse.
I wanted to put the chocomousse in small glasses to make it look a bit more sophisticated. It’s a Christmas party after all! It looked nice, but not exactly how I wanted it to look like. My mom told me to add some glitters or something. My boyfriend came with a much better idea: chocolate stars!
I love this recipe because it’s so easy! You’ll have your excellent chocolate mousse in no time!
It can perfectly be made a couple of hours before your guests arrive.
What do we need (I made 10 glasses):
- 8 eggs
- 300 g dark chocolate
- a pinch of salt
- 50 g butter
- 10 small glasses
- 2 piping bags + 1 tip
- baking paper
How to:
Put 250 g of the chocolate in a bowl with the butter. Melt it in the microwave or au bain marie.
If you use the microwave, use sessions of 30 seconds. Stir and do another session. Repeat that until everything is completely melted.
Split the eggs. Whip the egg whites with a pinch of salt. Add the egg yolks to the melted chocolate and stir with a wooden spoon to prevent the eggs from setting.
Gently stir 2 spoons of the egg whites with the melted chocolate. Add the rest of it. Gently stir until it becomes a nice and smooth mixture.
Put it in the fridge for about 2 hours if the chocolate mousse isn’t firm enough.
Put the tip in the piping bag. Add the chocolate mousse in it.
Pipe the chocolate mousse in the glasses. Put them back in the fridge.
Melt the 50 g of chocolate that was left. Use the same technique if you’re using the microwave.
Put it in the piping bag. Cut the end of the piping bag off.
Put a sheet of baking paper on the counter. Make star shapes with the chocolate. Put it in the fridge to let it cool down.
When everything is done, put the stars on top of the glasses and TADAA! A lovely and festive chocomousse is ready to be eaten by your guests!
Enjoy!
Have a delicious day and a WONDERFUL Christmas! ❤
